PURPOSE & SCOPE: To help new faculty members begin a program of research. Provides funding for a wide variety of research-related expenses--travel to libraries, supplies, materials, and student assistants. (Although student assistant wages can be a part of the budget, the faculty member must be the principal investigator.) Faculty salary is not an eligible expense. Particularly useful in conjunction with a grant-in-time. Typical grant range: $200 - $2,000.
PERSONS ELIGIBLE; Full-time members of the teaching faculty during their first three years of service at Roanoke College
