Abstract: Who is the best shooter in ODAC basketball? Who is the best in the NBA at getting opponents in foul trouble? Stat Crew is a group of students who attend home games, collect data, and send reports to coaches. Sports planned for this include men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, and baseball/softball teams. Stat Crew activity can satisfy some of the requirements in the new Sports Analytics concentration. This talk will start with an overview of sports analytics, give some of the details of Stat Crew work with specific examples from soccer, basketball, and baseball, and conclude with recent examples of student research projects in basketball.  Plus information on how you can get involved!
