Teresa Gereaux, gereaux@roanoke.edu false MM/DD/YYYYJoin us for a Coffeeshop Talk exploring a timely and essential question: Why does respect for each other matter? In a moment marked by polarization, misunderstanding, and real differences in conviction, how do we sustain communities where people can listen, disagree thoughtfully, and remain in relationship?
Our speakers, Dr. Frank Shushok Jr. and Rev. Kelly Shushok, will reflect on how respect shapes leadership, civic life, education and everyday encounters across differences. Drawing on their experiences in higher education, ministry and community engagement, they will invite participants into conversation about what respect looks like in practice, not only as a value but as a daily discipline.
Coffeeshop Talks are designed as welcoming, conversational spaces where ideas are shared over coffee and community. All are welcome.
Come ready to listen, reflect, and then participate in conversation!
