A renowned correspondent, P. J. O’Rourke has covered politics, economics, culture and current events in such diverse publications as The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Beast, Car and Driver, Forbes, and Rolling Stone. He is the author of 21 best-selling books, including Parliament of Whores, Holidays in Hell, Don’t Vote – It Just Encourages the Bastards, and A Cry From the Far Middle. He has also covered wars and conflicts in many countries, always managing to find a laugh—usually about how scared he was. Considered as a hard-bitten, cigar-smoking conservative, in fact, he can’t stand either political party. As he puts it, “Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.”
