Kandinsky Trio Concert Series: Chausson and "Recurring Dreams," with Kyle Hutchins, Saxophonist
The season finale will start with a nod to Beethoven’s 250th anniversary year with a performance of his early Trio in B-flat Major and the quirky and lush Recurring Dreams for Piano Trio and Saxophone by Roshanne Etezady, featuring saxophonist Kyle Hutchins. Dr. Hutchins, saxophone faculty at Virginia Tech, is best described as an experimental musician and is active world-wide in the contemporary music scene as well as last year’s first prize winner of the American Protege International Competition. Rounding out the program will be the dark and intense Piano Trio in G Minor by Ernest Chausson. The Kandinskys have long championed this late 19th century Romantic masterpiece.
