Daylily Day is the student film that kickstarted the Media Arts program at Roanoke College! In the fall of 2015, creative writing student, Steph Spector '16, set out to film her award-winning script for Daylily Day with an eager group of students, faculty and staff. The experience was so rewarding other students joined in and The Basically Tarantino Film Festival was born. 24 student films later, the film festival is still going strong and the Student Activity Media Arts Hall of Fame was created to honor students who create and produce extracurricular media projects to entertain their fellow students. Daylily Day was eventually accepted into four New York film festivals and all six of our alumni panelists were eventually inducted into the RC Student Activity Media Arts Hall of Fame.
Join us as the founding alumni reunite with Joe Boucher '86, Director of Student Activities, to watch the short film and discuss this exciting project!
