Roanoke vs. Gallaudet Football Game

Join us for a Family Weekend matchup between Roanoke College and Gallaudet University! Events include a family tailgate, Rooney’s Red Zone, with food, games, and fan fun.

Student admission is free. Noke fans also can catch a free campus shuttle to the stadium. Here’s your game day guide:

Shuttle Service: Free shuttles will run between Cregger Center (front entrance) and Salem Stadium starting at 11 a.m. and ending 1 hour after the game.

Rooney’s Red Zone Tailgate: Festivities will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Salem Stadium parking lot with the Office of Alumni & Family Relations. Each ticket includes food and 2 drinks. Students and children under 5 are free. Tickets will be available on-site Saturday or ahead of time Friday at the Family Weekend check-in table at the Colket Center. 

Kick Off: Gates open at 1 p.m., and kick off is at 2 p.m. Seating is general admission unless otherwise marked as reserved. Be aware Salem Stadium has a clear bag policy. Prohibited bags include diaper bags, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags and coolers. More stadium info is here.

Game Theme: This game will recognize Deaf Awareness Week in honor of Gallaudet University, whose mission is to empower students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Gallaudet is a longtime leader in college football having pioneered the team huddle in 1894. It also introduced American Sign Language to the world.

Interpreters from Roanoke College’s ASL program will be working throughout the stadium, and limited-edition T-shirts will be available at the Campus Store booth.

Tickets: Buy your game tickets online early and save! Tickets also will be available at the stadium box office. Admission is free for students and children age 5 and under.
