Two of our three field experiences allow qualified students to teach outside the Roanoke Valley and take the following forms:

INQ 277 Comparative Education
Offered during the May term, this class provides competency for EDUC 338: Internship to qualified students. When offered, you'll typically spend May traveling to and interning in an international school setting with a group of your education peers.

EDUC 380: Internship in Education (away)
Sometimes, qualified students wish to intern in a type of school unavailable in the Roanoke Valley. It is possible, given EDUC approval, to intern in an away school which has these rare qualities.

EDUC 490/491/492: Student Teaching (away)
Qualified students seeking an international placement or away placement (if the desired school-type is unavailable in the Roanoke Valley), given EDUC approval, may student teach at our international partner sites or in approved U.S. school systems.
