Living & Eating

A nice, friendly place to live

At Roanoke you'll find well-appointed residence halls with lots of amenities: digital cable and WiFi in every room, lounge space, study rooms, laundry and kitchens. Most dorms are just a short walk from academic buildings, athletic facilities and the library.

Our food is great, too, with an extensive, ever-changing buffet served continuously in the Sutton Commons, plus a selection of "grab and go" favorites in the Cavern, Fruitions and Rooney's Brews. Want a change of pace?  There are fun places to eat a few blocks away in Salem, or just a short drive away in downtown Roanoke.

Comfortable dorms, tasty food, lots of friends—it's no wonder so many students think of Roanoke as "family" and nearly 8 out of 10 choose to make campus their home.

“Coming from a big city, Roanoke has become my second home, thanks to the close-knit and welcoming community.”

“The brunch I ate after my tour was a big part of why I chose to come to Roanoke! Roanoke has many great qualities, but being able to eat good food for four years was pretty important.”
