Center Fellows

Student fellows with the Benne Center for Church & Society are challenged to explore meaningful questions about faith and learning. The prestigious fellowships begin in the fall semester and include:

  • Grant of $700 provided by the center
  • Opportunities to personally meet visiting speakers hosted by the center
  • Completion of a short, fall project, in consultation with center leaders, that contributes to the Benne Center's purpose. Examples of projects could include writing for a center publication or hosting an event.

Fellows also get first notice of possible conference travel scholarships and take part in dinners with faculty at least once a year to discuss faith and learning. They can request for their personal use up to $100 worth of books that are related to the center's purpose.

To apply or learn more about the Benne Center Fellows program, please contact Dr. Kelly Anderson at kanderson@roanoke.edu. Applicants should include their current year, major and GPA, as well as evidence of their common interests with the center's work and how they would like to contribute to it. Invited interviews will follow.
