Our campus is home to a variety of indoor classroom spaces located in either historic academic buildings like West Hall or modern facilities like the Cregger Center or McConnon Discovery Center. These range in size, accommodating anywhere from six to 60 guests.

Bast Mezzanine

Soak up the spirit of vintage athletics in the Bast Center Mezzanine, which is connected to the old Bast gymnasium to create a unique and fun atmosphere appropriate for multiple event styles.

Bast Gym (Non-Athletic Event)

You can almost hear the squeak of sneakers on wooden floorboards and feel the excitement of past celebrations when you step inside Bast Gymnasium, a large-capacity space suitable for events such as dances and team-building retreats. $800 set-up fee applies.

Located off the original gymnasium inside the Bast Center, the Hall of Fame space is a one-of-a-kind spot on our campus where guests will have an experience they won't soon forget.

Cavern

The newly renovated Cavern, our college's casual dining venue, features bright, modern decor, big windows overlooking the athletic fields, and diner-style seating, all in a space that opens up to a beautiful brick patio with an eye-popping view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Colket Lower Atrium

Just outside the Roanoke College Campus Store and The Cavern – our modern, casual dining venue – the Lower Atrium is a voluminous space highlighted by privacy and excellent accessibility.

Colket 1st Floor Atrium

The spacious First Floor Atrium is located at the heart of the Colket Student Center, which is just off the lush, tree-lined Back Quad. This space features graceful columns and a two-story ceiling with views of the upper level and proximity to dining spaces and meeting rooms.

Colket 2nd Floor Atrium

Our Second Floor Atrium, located outside Wortmann Ballroom with wide-open views of the atrium below, is the perfect space to mingle, network and enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres and drinks.

Cregger Foyer

One of the newest gems in Roanoke's event-hosting crown, the Cregger Center Atrium is a large, modern space framed by a wall of glass doors on one side and large television screens on the other. Located on the ground level, this space is easily accessible and features quick access to the gymnasium and elevators, as well as a concession stand.

Located inside the Colket Student Center, the Patterson Meeting Room accommodates up to 50 people, but tables can also be arranged in a U or square shape to facilitate collaboration and discussion among smaller groups. Patterson offers A/V capability.

Pickle Lounge

Pickle Lounge is one of the larger meeting spaces inside the Colket Student Center, and it is where the college Board of Trustees chooses to meet several times a year. Tucked in a corner of the ground floor yet just across the atrium from the Commons dining room, Pickle offers privacy, convenience and full A/V functionality.

Built in 1853, Monterey House is a large, Greek Revival-style structure with federal, state, and local historic landmark status. It is newly remodeled and houses several beautifully redecorated rooms, including the roomy and well-lighted library.
