Kim Kyusik Center for Korean Studies
The Kim Kyusik Center for Korean Studies at Roanoke College celebrates Roanoke College’s unique historic ties to Korea and sets the stage for a new era of cultural exchange and student opportunities. Created in partnership with Korea’s Independence Hall, the center highlights the legacy of alumnus and Korean independence leader Kim Kyusik and serves as a hub for education, research, and historical preservation.
The new Kim Kyusik Center for Korean Studies was installed in an approximately 200-square-foot space in Roanoke College's Bank Building.

Dr. Kim Soo-oak traveled from Seoul, Korea, and Allen Kim traveled from New York City to walk the campus where their grandfather, Kim Kyusik, graduated in 1903. They were accompanied by the consul from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.
