Teresa Gereaux, gereaux@roanoke.edu false MM/DD/YYYYIn a world marked by upheaval, hope can feel distant. But uncertainty is nothing new. Many, including Robyn McCutcheon, have lived through it. Her message to students: Stay positive — and keep your quaternions continuous.
McCutcheon, a former NASA engineer and U.S. diplomat, served in Moscow during Putin's rise to power and advocated for LGBTQIA+ representation in the foreign service. Now an author and historian based partly in Kazakhstan, she continues to witness global change firsthand. She's formed a perspective that is simple yet powerful: Resilience comes from maintaining a positive attitude and believing better days are ahead.
Join us to hear more from McCutcheon when she visits campus as part of the 2026 Fowler Public Affairs Lectures Series.
