Jon Murrill '09, a professional muralist whose work has transformed the Roanoke Valley, will join us for lecture about the role of public art and his experiences as an artist.

This event, which is free and open to the public, will also celebrate the completion of his latest project — painting a mural on all four sides of the community space at Roanoke College's Maroon Village.

Murrill, a graduate of Roanoke College and Radford University, is an art educator who designs his projects with community participation in mind. This project was no different,as many Roanoke College students participated in artist sessions during Murrill's time on campus.
