The Public Affairs Society (PAS) is an award-winning student organization at Roanoke College. PAS students organize and participate in events such as student debates, faculty discussions, book clubs, and lectures from prominent scholars from the U.S. and abroad. The opportunity to create important discourse on a range of vital topics among the students in criminal justice, international relations, political science, and public policy and throughout the College community is something no other student organization on campus can offer

Alpha Phi Sigma is the national Criminal Justice Honor Society. The society recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate, graduate students of criminal justice, as well as juris doctorate. To qualify for membership, students must meet the following criteria:

Roanoke College recently welcomed a chapter of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice (NACBJ). The mission of NACBJ is “to ensure Black representation and participation as policy makers in the administration of justice nationally, regionally, and locally. [And] to aggressively assist in recruiting Blacks and other minorities for all areas and levels of the criminal justice system.” The Roanoke College chapter welcomes students of backgrounds who are interested in joining their peers to foster increased equality in the criminal justice system.
