Planning your Pathway
At Roanoke College, our purpose is to help you find yours. HEXS faculty are here to support you in the pursuit of experiences that will prepare you for a purpose-driven future. In addition to one-on-one advising with a faculty mentor, refer to these resources to help build your pathway.
Navigating the INQ Curriculum:
As you make decisions about your liberal learning goals, you are encouraged to select courses that open your eyes to the world, challenges your current beliefs, and arms you with the skills needed to thrive in a complex and evolving world. Don't forget that you also have the freedom to substitute three courses in INQ with courses that support your major, minor, or graduate school trajectory. In HEXS, it is common for students to substitute INQ 250 and 251 with BIO 106, BIO 230, and/or BIO 260. Many graduate schools require introductory courses in Psychology, Sociology, or Public Health; these courses can substitute an INQ 260 course.
