Thinking about a career in healthcare?
If you’re interested in working in the diverse world of healthcare — whether as a doctor, dentist, art therapist, medical communicator, health administrator or more — Pre-CHeC is a great way to start your journey at Roanoke College.
This supportive, pre-semester program for new students is a chance to connect with other Maroons who share your goals and learn more about the resources available to help you succeed.
What is Pre-CHeC?
Pre-CHeC is an early campus experience designed to help you explore the many paths available to you in healthcare — both at Roanoke College and in the Roanoke region. During the program, you'll:
- Connect with faculty advisors and upperclass students
- Tour local healthcare training facilities
- Take part in healthcare-related community service
- Learn about academic and extracurricular resources that support pre-health students
How does it work?
Pre-CHeC students move to campus early and take part in a 5-day program that includes a mix of hands-on activities, site visits, conversations with faculty and students, and opportunities to explore growing fields in healthcare.
Space is limited to 16 students, making it easy to connect and fully participate.
