Researcher Training
Mandatory Training for Researchers
Each researcher involved in human subjects' research projects must provide documentation of competence in the rules and procedures governing ethical treatment and use of human research participants, including faculty advisors. This requires completing training through the CITI Program.
If you have not previously been through Human Subject Research training, you must complete the "Social & Behavioral Research Investigators" online course through the CITI Training Website.
- Click this link to register an account
- Choose "Select Your Organization Affiliation"
- Type in "Roanoke College" and select it from the drop-down
- Enroll in the "Social & Behavioral Research Investigators" course
- Complete all required modules*
Please save the training certificates of all researchers involved in a given project as separate PDFs and attach them to your application. Note that your certificate expires after 4 years, so faculty members may need to refresh their training in order to provide active/current records.
*Note: The default modality for most modules is a series of video-based trainings. If you prefer to complete the same training via text-based resources, you can do so by starting a module and selecting "Switch View" in the top right corner.
