Ethics Bowl

The Ethics Bowl is a state-wide contest sponsored every year by the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC). In the competition, pairs of teams from private colleges and universities in Virginia compete in giving solutions to ethical dilemmas presented in case studies. Each team offers a solution to the case given to them and answers questions from a panel of judges, who assign points to each team. At the end of four rounds, the teams with the combination of best win-loss record and highest point total advance to the final round. Students interested in the Ethics Bowl meet regularly during the fall to prepare for the competition, which is usually held in February.
