Voter registration

Election Day is Nov. 3. Time to check that you are registered, and, if needed, that you have requested an absentee ballot.

Important dates:

  • Oct. 13 — Last day to register to vote – online, by mail or in person. Click here to see if you are registered.
  • Oct. 23 — Last day to request an absentee ballot application to vote by mail.
  • Nov. 3 — Election Day 

News you can use:

  • Voter registration forms and absentee ballots can be requested here. Absentee ballots must be received by the General Registrar’s Office prior to Election Day. The City of Salem Registrar’s Office is at 19 East Clay Street, Salem, Virginia.
  • College students who may be attending school outside of your hometown can vote by mail.
