Roanoke College Partnerships

  • A newly formed partnership with Roanoke College delivers a pathway for students to take advantage of an accelerated 4+1 undergraduate/graduate program in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech.
The partnership allows students at Roanoke College who are working toward a Bachelor of Science degree to complete a master’s degree in just one additional year at Virginia Tech. The agricultural and applied economics master’s degree provides students with data analytics skills in economic modeling, data analysis, econometrics, forecasting, and micro- and macroeconomics.

  • Direct to Tech provides Roanoke College students direct admission into Virginia Tech Master of Engineering programs in either computer science and applications or computer engineering upon graduation from Roanoke College. Direct to Tech is open to all Roanoke College seniors with a 3.0 GPA, regardless of major, who have completed certain required courses.

A second agreement between the two schools allows Roanoke College students to take advantage of an accelerated 4+1 undergraduate/graduate program in computer science or computer engineering at Virginia Tech. This partnership enables students to take courses that apply toward a bachelor’s degree at Roanoke College and an accelerated master’s degree at Virginia Tech. This means students can earn a Bachelor of Science in four years, then complete the master’s with just one additional year at Virginia Tech.

  • The Roanoke College Education Department works collaboratively with local and international Pre-K-12 schools and with our peer educator preparation programs. With that commitment in mind, we regularly work with schools in our region through the SW Virginia Professional Education Consortium to ensure program relevancy and quality.
