Build Community Data Capacity

We believe that data is a powerful tool for change—when it’s local, inclusive, and actionable. Our team engages residents and local partners in collecting, analyzing, and applying data to inform decisions that drive impact.

• We position residents to assess and improve the neighborhood conditions that shape health by conducting the triennial Roanoke Valley Community Healthy Living Index (RVCHLI)
• We teach cross-sector partners to use localized, interactive tools like the City Health Dashboard to collaborate in the development data-informed strategies to improve community health across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• We enhance community data capacity by embedding community data needs into academic curriculum.
• We leverage our national network of Invest Health partners to make sure our work and our community remain at the forefront of community health innovation.

Together, these efforts help residents and organizations advocate for the resources and policies they need.
