Center for Community Health Innovation
Founded in 2018, the Center for Community Health Innovation at Roanoke College works hand-in-hand with residents and community partners to create lasting, community-driven solutions that address health disparities across the Roanoke Valley.
We bring people together, support data-informed action, and empower the next generation of changemakers—all with one goal: a healthier, more equitable Roanoke Valley.
What We Do
At the heart of our work is a commitment to equity, collaboration, and community-driven change. We partner with residents, organizations, and local governments to build healthier, more connected communities. Through data, dialogue, and direct action, we support initiatives that reflect the voices and values of the people we serve.
-
We collect, analyze, and share data to identify local health equity priorities and inform impactful, cross-sector strategies to address them.
-
As a neutral convener, we bring together residents, organizations, and leaders to foster collaboration and drive equitable policy and community development initiatives.
-
We support partner organizations in developing and implementing data-driven, equity-focused strategies.
-
From planning to execution, we provide leadership and support to advance initiatives that make a measurable difference in community health.
-
Through service-driven research, Roanoke College students play an active role in shaping a healthier future for the Roanoke Valley.
