Roanoke College is honored to welcome Dr. D. Rae Carpenter, Jr. '49 and Wesley Graves VI '63 back to campus to accept the Roanoke College Medal during the 2018 Alumni Weekend.

Kaitlin Busse '18 has received a Fulbright award to conduct research and study in Denmark at the Copenhagen Business School. She is the twelfth Fulbright student recipient at Roanoke College. 

Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine is currently conducting its annual Top Adventure College bracket challenge. Roanoke made it to the second round and is now matched against Sweet Briar.

Samuel McKnight, a sophomore, has been awarded a Critical Language Scholarship to study Russian language this summer in Vladimir, Russia. He is the first Roanoke College student to receive this competitive award. 

This year's Alumni Weekend brings the usual fare as well as some new additions, including an alumni/student networking event, social media ambassador reception, family karaoke night, a rite of remembrance and the first annual Noke Hour.

Roanoke concludes search with appointment of David Mowen, who is currently the executive vice president of finance and administration at Mary Baldwin University. He joins Roanoke in August.

The Virginia Real Estate Indexes are mixed. The index for current real estate conditions rebounded from a six-month drop and finished close to its historical record from May 2017, while the index for the future real estate conditions remained strong, but fell from last quarter.

Clapper's appearance is part of the Henry H. Fowler Program and the Delta Gamma Ethics in Leadership Program. General Clapper will speak on ethics and the current and future importance of intelligence gathering, continuing this year's academic theme, The Next America. 

For the second time since 2012, Roanoke College is a recipient of the ASIANetwork's fellowship award. The College is one of eight recipients of the Student-Faculty Fellows 2018 award.
