For 31 years, Roanoke College students have gained real-world experiences in the nation's capital through what is now known as the Lutheran College Washington Semester Program. 

On Monday, Nov. 13, students, faculty and staff gathered, along with many local alumni and friends, in Kerr Stadium to create a giant 175 photo opp. Wearing their Maroon gear, they stood in the prepainted "175" formation on the field. A drone was flown overhead to capture a bird's eye view of the field.

McGill will lead several events focusing on the history and legacy of enslaved Americans.

With just days remaining in the campaign, Democrat gubernatorial candidate Ralph Northam and Republican Ed Gillespie are tied (47%-47%), while Libertarian Cliff Hyra garners three percent of likely Virginia voters.

The Student-Managed Fund (BUAD 322) has been a course offering at Roanoke College every semester since 2004. The class challenges Roanoke students to use their skills, innovation, and teamwork to responsibly grow a real investment portfolio. The initial $500,000 investment has more than doubled and is now worth more than $1,000,000.

Roanoke College Choir performs for the national Reformation 500 worship service at Washington National Cathedral. On campus, a reenactment of the events in Wittenberg 500 years ago is organized by faculty and students. 

This special tree in the Olin Courtyard is a gift from Board of Trustees to be dedicated in honor of President Maxey's ten year anniversary.

Abbe Guarino, a psychology and Spanish major who graduated in May, recently learned she received a Fulbright award to teach English in Brazil.
