Come walk part of the Camino de Santiago in Portugal and Spain! Santiago de Compostela, the destination of the pilgrimage route, claims to be the burial site of St. James the Apostle, the patron saint of Spain. The group will hike 10-12 miles per day with backpacks and sleep in communal pilgrim accommodations called albergues with pilgrims from around the world. Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese language not required. You'll visit shrines, study medieval art and culture, and stay in pilgrim hostels alongside travelers from around the world. Forget the classroom. This is hands-on learning with good shoes. No hiking experience needed, just curiosity and a sense of adventure.
