Chris Drew

Chris serves as the senior housing officer and provides executive leadership for all aspects of Residence Life & Housing. He focuses on strategic management and creating an engaging and inclusive on-campus living environment that supports student learning and development. That includes leading efforts to expand living-learning programs as well as working closely with campus partners to update residential facilities. Chris previously served as the Director of Student Housing and Residence Life at Cameron University. Earlier in his career, he served in Residence Life positions at Elmhurst University, Franklin College, and Earlham College. Chris earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana State University, where he served as a Resident Assistant and a graduate Hall Director. Chris has been involved with regional housing associations and ACUHO-l, including serving on the Public Policy Advisory Committee along with the Senior Housing Officer Institute and the Mid Level Leadership Institute. He enjoys building community on campus with students, faculty, and staff and making a positive impact on the student experience. Chris also enjoys nature, movies, music, reading, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
Ellasen Elroumy

Ellasen oversees the Elizabeth Campus and Chesapeake Hall. Ellasen is a graduate of Roanoke College receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a concentration in Screen Studies. Along with her education at Roanoke, she managed Event Staff for two years and was an RA for three years. She was a recipient of the VACHUO Programing award in 2019, Returning RA of the Year award in 2022, and was inducted into the Media Arts Hall of Fame in 2022. She is focused on creating safe places for students and advocating for the health and wellness for others. In her free time, Ellasen enjoys reading, filmmaking, walking with her dog, Carl, and spending time with her family and friends.

Josue Sebastian Cruz
Josue serves as an Assistant Director of Residence Life, where he oversees the South Side residential neighborhood on campus. He is a graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Research and a minor in Community Health Sciences. Before joining the RC team, Josue worked in Residential and Commuter Life at Longwood University with a focus on Student Staff team building, Program Budgeting, and community building. During his free time, he enjoys video games, cooking, taking classes to build new skills, and going to the gym.
Kay Belcher
Kay serves as an Assistant Director of Residence Life, where they oversees the West Side residential neighborhood on campus. In this role, they mentor student staff, support everyday housing operations, and lead initiatives that enhance the residential experience. Kay graduated from Roanoke College, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Gender and Women’s Studies, where they focused their research on a student’s sense of belonging. Along with their education, Kay served as a Head Office Assistant for four years and a Head Resident Advisor for two years. Recognized for their exceptional leadership, dedication, and contributions to student affairs, they received the Cynthia Overton Award, Distinguished Service Award, Impact Award, and Gender & Women’s Studies Best Major Research Project Award. Kay’s strengths are inclusive leadership, operational efficiency, and student advocacy, as they are passionate about fostering equitable, welcoming environments where all students feel supported. In their free time, Kay enjoys nature, traveling, music, reading, video games, animation, and spending time with their cat.
Paige Ward

Born and raised in the Roanoke Valley, Paige is a proud “Alma Mater”-singing Roanoke College graduate (‘04). While in these hallowed halls, she was an alto in Dr. Sandborg’s RC Choir, alto and soloist in the “Mainstreet” a cappella group and a member of Mu Beta Psi, Outdoor Adventures, and the International Club. Paige holds an M.Ed. in higher education leadership from Liberty University and brings decades of experience in education and gold standard customer service. Coffee and writing are her passion, and on the weekends, you can find her hiking with her husband, Kristopher, or traveling to scout out new coffee shops! Paige is honored to be a part of Residence Life & Housing and to be of service to students as they experience their Roanoke College journey.
