PLACE Update – November 2025

As part of our commitment to supporting career readiness and lifelong success, we’re excited to share recent updates from Roanoke College’s PLACE, the Center for Purpose, Life, and Career Exploration. We will regularly provide highlights with the Roanoke College community from the bi-weekly PLACE post emails, giving you a glimpse into the resources, events, and opportunities available to students on their career journeys.

Throughout the fall semester, PLACE featured hands-on workshops on LinkedIn profile optimization, ethical and professional use of AI, and a panel of alumni who brought real-world job search strategies directly to our students. Alumni engagement continues to be strong, with recent graduates and seasoned professionals alike connecting with students for mentorship and career guidance through various platforms, including Meet a Maroon. In October, PLACE hosted 50 companies for the annual Fall Job and Internship Fair, with many organizations being represented by Roanoke College alumni. These ongoing efforts reinforce our community’s dedication to fostering career growth and purpose-driven exploration.

We are also planning for our annual Launch Lab from January 8-10, 2026. This multi-day career intensive program invites current seniors to launch into their career with hands-on workshops, networking events, and personalized guidance.

These students will:
• Discover their strengths and goals
• Create standout resumes and cover letters
• Build their personal brand and LinkedIn profile
• Practice networking and interview skills
• Prepare for job offers and life after graduation
