PLACE Update — July 2026

As part of our commitment to supporting career readiness and lifelong success, we’re excited to share recent updates from Roanoke College’s PLACE, the Center for Purpose, Life, and Career Exploration. We regularly provide highlights from the bi-weekly PLACE Post emails, giving you a glimpse into the resources, events, and opportunities available to students on their career journeys.

This summer at PLACE, we are excitedly planning a suite of programs for the fall, including the Job and Internship Fair. On September 15, we will host the Fall Job and Internship Fair on campus where we invite our employer partners back to campus for opportunities to meet talented Maroons. If you or your organization would like more information on the Fair, or would like to participate, please contact us at place@roanoke.edu.

At the beginning of the summer, and thanks to a generous donation, PLACE awarded four students monetary stipends to support their summer internships through the Internship Scholarship program. These recipients are completing internships in a variety of areas, including NASDAQ, LewisGale Medical Center (anesthesiology), the Roanoke College Student Garden, and the Valley Community Services Board. We are proud of these students and their pursuit of meaningful opportunities, and are glad to support them!
