Roanoke College has been ranked 10th in the nation for Best Athletic Facilities by The Princeton Review.
The recognition highlights the college’s commitment to creating spaces that support student wellness, athletic development and community connections. Campus facilities include the first-class Cregger Center, which offers an arena, indoor track and fitness center, as well as Kerr Stadium field and its stunning backdrop.
New this year is the 8,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art Athletic Performance Center, a strength and conditioning facility built in Alumni Gym that will serve every student-athlete on campus. Resources in it include performance flooring and turf, expanded weightlifting equipment, and new tech to track workout results.
Roanoke also is fortunate to have strong partnerships with its neighbors – great town and gown relationships was another accolade bestowed by The Princeton Review. Those bonds make it possible for Noke teams to compete at Salem-Memorial Ballpark, which is a Class A facility, Salem (Football) Stadium, Green Hill Park, Salem YMCA and the recently renovated Moyer Sports Complex.
Roanoke is home to 28 varsity sports and more than 650 student-athletes. Students and teams took home multiple recognitions in the past year, including a national championship won by wrestler Mark Samuel ’26.
Roanoke is part of a select group of schools included in The Princeton Review’s 2026 guide, “The Best 391 Colleges.” The guide showcases institutions that the agency recommends for top-tier undergraduate academics. Only about 15% of four-year colleges and universities across the nation are included.
In addition to making the overall list, Roanoke was again spotlighted as one of The Princeton Review’s Great Schools for Business/Finance Majors and Great Schools for Psychology Majors, a distinction it has consistently earned for the past decade or more.
