RC-RV partners with ed2go to launch innovative, on-demand workforce training programs

Roanoke College-Roanoke Valley (RC-RV), the college’s lifelong learning arm, is proud to announce a new workforce training program that will make it easier than ever for people to build new skills and earn sought-after credentials. 

The program offers a suite of flexible, online courses designed to fit the needs of busy professionals. It’s launching with an extensive catalog of options in health care, cybersecurity, project management, construction and trades, and more. 

The courses are the result of a strategic partnership with ed2go, a national leader in accessible, industry-aligned career training programs and part of Cengage Group. The collaboration reflects RC-RV's commitment to serving regional workforce needs with innovative programs that strengthen the local talent pipeline.  

“Our mission is to unlock new opportunities for the Roanoke Valley,” said Lisa Stoneman, an assistant vice president of Roanoke College and head of RC-RV. “By making it easier for people to upskill and reskill, we’re empowering them to grow and build meaningful, rewarding careers.” 

More than 120 courses and certificates are now available at roanoke.edu/CareerReady. The program will continue expanding as RC-RV responds to the real-time needs of local employers. The courses offer: 

• Flexible, On-Demand Learning: Courses are fully online, with self-paced options that can be started by students at any time. The convenience allows working professionals to learn on their own schedules while balancing career and home. 
• Accessible, Affordable Opportunities: Courses are cost-effective and designed to close the education-to-employment gap for learners who need customizable pathways beyond traditional two-year and four-year education programs. 
• Expert-Led Curriculum: By partnering with ed2go, RC-RV is building on a proven track record of success. ed2go has over 25 years of experience in continuing education and served more than 4.5 million students. Its carefully designed courses are tailored to in-demand skills in growing fields.
