Roanoke College launches WorkAI Lab to prepare leaders for new era of technology

As artificial intelligence transforms what’s possible, Roanoke College is launching WorkAI Lab, a hands-on program that equips professionals with the skills and strategies needed to lead AI adoption within their organizations. 

The seven-week program combines in-depth training, expert instruction and peer collaboration to help people move beyond experimentation and toward meaningful implementation. Graduates will leave prepared not only to use AI tools effectively, but to guide their own teams through the opportunities and challenges of AI-assisted work. 

“The workforce is changing fast, and the employees who thrive are going to be the ones who understand the tools reshaping how work gets done,” said Ryan King, innovation officer and chief of staff. “At Roanoke College, we built WorkAI Lab to close that gap. The training is designed for professionals who want both the technical understanding and strategic perspective needed to drive innovation.” 

WorkAI Lab is open to both individuals looking to upskill and employers interested in sponsoring seats for members of their team. Participants will emerge ready to bring new skills to their organizations, including the ability to conduct AI trainings and identify opportunities to leverage AI tools in workflows. 

Features of the program include: 

• Instruction from experienced experts who’ve successfully implemented AI in their own companies and achieved results 
• Gaining a deeper understanding of how AI works and how it can be responsibly managed 
• Guidance on how to create an AI strategy and implementation plan customized to your goals 
• Earning an “AI-Forward Leadership” badge, a professional credential that showcases your skill 

The first cohort of WorkAI Lab will begin in September. Applications are open now, and early bird pricing of $1,700 for the seven-week program is available until July 15. Group rates are also available for organizations submitting multiple applicants.
