The class of 2017 has nine seniors joining the Student Affairs Media Arts Hall of Fame in recognition for their creative contributions to the college. The students' names will be featured on the Garrett Student Media Lounge Wall of Fame. 

Salem, Va. - Bishop James Mauney, the retiring bishop of the Virginia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will be the featured speaker at Commencement on Saturday, May 6. Approximately 441 graduates will be among the Class of 2017. Commencement will be streamed live, and the link can be found at roanoke.edu/commencement. 

Roanoke College ceramics students worked this semester to create pieces to showcase in the College's annual Art Majors Show, which ends on May 5.

Luke Aprile's entry was one of 22 entered in this year's Pitch contest, an annual competition for which aspiring student entrepreneurs present business ideas for prizes.

Roanoke College marked its 175th anniversary during Alumni Weekend, and many alumni returned home to celebrate this milestone event. A fantastic fireworks show capped off the weekend. 

Caroline Peterson and Liam Lambert were named Honorable Mentions in the 2017 Barry S. Goldwater Scholarship competition.

The updated center, now in the Bast Center, was dedicated to McMillan "Mac" and Marcy Johnson. Mac Johnson ‘70, retired vice president and dean of students, created and led the College's Outdoor Adventures program for many years.
