Inspired by economist Milton Friedman and his passion for free markets, the Center for Economic Freedom's mission is to educate students and the community on the freedom of markets and individual choice in a liberal arts setting. Dr. Alice Kassens, will direct the Center. 

Young Adults in Global Mission, sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, sends college graduates ages 21 to 29 around the world for various kinds of service. 

Dr. Robert Emmett is co-author of " The Environmental Humanities" and one of three editors of "Future Remains - A Cabinet of Curiosities for the Anthropocene."

From July 24-29, Roanoke and 23 other colleges are teaming up to promote campus visits for Virginia Private College week, an annual six-day initiative sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia. 

Several rising high school juniors and seniors are living on campus and taking a class this month as part of the Roanoke College Summer Institute. 

Jaina Lanum '17 took first place for a photo that she called "Universal Language" in the first annual Roanoke Valley Sister Cities Young Photographers Showcase. The photo shows a child in Uganda putting his hand up to a window to touch the hand of Lanum's sister, Karlee.

A revised ramp, sidewalk and patio area, and door at the back of the Life Science building and a mailroom intercom/video system were installed in the past few months. 

The beer, made by Soaring Ridge Craft Brewers, was unveiled during April's Alumni Weekend.
