Mitt Romney has taken a six-point lead over President Barack Obama in Virginia. George Allen keeps an eight-point lead over Tim Kaine in the November sentate match-up between the two.

Mitt Romney leads Ron Paul in the Super Tuesday Republican Presidential primary election in Virginia by 35 percentage points. Paul does better with younger voters, but Romney leads in every other demographic group.

Allen has an eight point lead over Kaine in the senate race, while Virginians are not enamored with any potential Republican candidate for president. Obama leads all potential Republican candidates, except Mitt Romney.

Virginians weighed in with their opinions on the economy, including their financial situation, general business conditions, their inclination for purchasing durable goods, and their thoughts on prices in the near-term. 

As the holiday spending season approaches, Roanoke College's Institute for Policy and Opinion Research surveyed Virginians about their financial situation. The results suggest that households are optimistic that financial situations and business conditions will improve.

George Allen leads Tim Kaine by 3 percentage points. President Obama trails some Republican opponents, but outperforms others. Mitt Romney and Rick Perry lead President Obama, but the President leads Michele Bachmann, Ron Paul, and Sarah Palin.

Virginians who support the Tea Party have very different views from those who disagree with those ideas but they are very similar to those Virginians who describe themselves as political conservatives, according to a poll conducted by The Institute for Policy and Opinion Research at Roanoke College.

In anticipation of the 2011 General Assembly session in Virginia, the Institute for Policy and Opinion Research at Roanoke College conducted a statewide survey on a variety of issues, but focused primarily on fiscal issues-the budget, taxes, and spending.

George Allen has a narrow 3 percentage lead over Jim Webb, while Gail Parker found support in only two percent of those surveyed. The majority of Virginians support the marriage amendment and would vote for its passage,

Tim Kaine enjoys an eight-point lead over Jerry Kilgore, while Russ Potts has support of five percent of those surveyed. The Lieutenant Governor's race is experiencing a virtual tie between Leslie Byrne and Bill Bolling. Robert McDonnell has a five-point lead over Creigh Deeds in the Attorney General race.
