The class of 2017 has nine seniors joining the Student Affairs Media Arts Hall of Fame in recognition for their creative contributions to the college. The students' names will be featured on the Garrett Student Media Lounge Wall of Fame. 

Savannah Scott '17 has accepted a Fulbright study/research award to study at the University of Technology of Vienna, Austria. Scott, who is from Huntington, N.Y., is a member of the Honors Program and a biology major, with minors in chemistry and French. She will be studying water quality in Austria from October 2017 to June 2018.

Roanoke College was one of 14 Chamber businesses with more than 100 years of membership in the regional chamber.

Roanoke senior Rebecca Hudon has been named a Rhodes Scholar finalist -- Roanoke's first Rhodes finalist in more than 100 years. She interviews with the regional Rhodes committee in Indianapolis, later this week.

Two Roanoke students who grew up in Kenya joined with other Kenyan women to work to improve living conditions in the impoverished urban areas of their home country.

The Princeton Review has named RC one of the best colleges in the U.S. In addition, Roanoke was named a great school for students who major in business/finance, computer science and psychology.

Brieanah Gouveia '17, an art history major, is headed to England, while Daniel Osborne '17, a history major, will study in Scotland.

Within the past year, the Roanoke faculty, students and administration have made strides in campus-wide environmental awareness. 

More than 59 years after they met at Roanoke, the 1956 graduates are honored with Roanoke's top alumni award.
