The author of "Living Queer History: Remembrance and Belonging in a Southern City" is part of the speaker lineup announced by the literary festival taking place next month in Charlottesville.

The program is hosting eight, free film screenings at venues across the Roanoke Valley.

Higher education administrator and author Ainsley Carry, whose second book tackles the challenge of negotiating memorial disputes on college campuses, spoke at Roanoke College on Wednesday as part of the Memorials, Monuments & Memory Lecture Series.
