Dr. Laura Hartman
Associate ProfessorDr. Hartman approaches environmental issues from a humanities perspective, focusing on ethics and religion. She teaches in the environmental justice track in the major, and her research examines environmental ethics in the realm of transportation and justice. She’s also involved with RAISE, Roanoke Area Interfaith Stewards of the Earth.

Dr. Chelsea Peters
Assistant ProfessorAs a hydrologist, Dr. Peters’ interests broadly revolve around water resources, human adaptation, and climate change. She teaches many science courses for the department, including Introduction to Environmental Science. Dr. Peters is heavily involved with research at the Environment Center and around Roanoke Valley. Associate ProfessorAn ecologist in the biology department, Dr. Collins teaches courses of interest for students in the Conservation and Earth's Critical Zone track. LecturerDr. Larson-Harris teaches classes that connect environmental issues with the humanities, including Religion and Ecology and Environmental Ethics. His main focus is on how Asian Religions and Native American Religions respond to nature and contemporary crises. -
