Virginia Conference on Race

In Spring 2022, the Center for Studying Structures of Race will sponsor and host its inaugural student conference on race studies. This conference will be called the Virginia Conference on Race (VCR) and will bring together students from Roanoke College, students from neighboring institutions, our own faculty/staff, and members of the community.

This two-day conference begins on Thursday evening, April 7th, with our keynote speaker Dr. Morgan Smalls (James Madison University). On Friday, April 8th, talented undergraduate and graduate students will present work engaging diversity in a variety of contexts and through different theoretical lenses.
