Information Systems uses the tools, techniques and concepts of various disciplines such as computer science, management science and organizational behavior in determining the needs of an organization. These resources are applied with computer technology to find a solution to a wide range of business problems.


A concentration in Business Information Systems (BIS) is achieved by completion of the following program with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0: 

BUAD 218 Information Systems (BUAD 110, Math 111 or permission) 
BUAD 338 e-Business (BUAD 218)
BUAD 438 Systems Analysis and Design (BUAD 218 and permission)

Plus three courses selected from:

BUAD 260 Special Topics (as approved by the department)
BUAD 328 Application Development in Business (BUAD 218)
BUAD 368 Decision Support and Intelligent Systems (BUAD 218 & INQ 240)
INQ 241 Mobile App Development
INQ 260 Social Scientific Reasoning (Information Systems topics only)
BUAD 406 Independent Study (permission)
BUAD 416 Internship (permission)
Pre-approved IL course

Admission to the concentration requires an overall grade point average of 2.0 and a 2.0 grade point average in all courses that are prerequisites to concentration courses.
